Reb started playing in 1972 with a team named “Hotel 76” the team at the end of the season had a record of 0 & 28 After that season he realized had no where to go but up. He started his own team in 1974 and called then J & J Welding. After a few seasons he took his team over his new sponsor Anthony’s Café and took them to a number of Saturday, Sunday and night league championships. Along the way he took teams to the A.S.A. tournament and won two times. John in 1984 took his team to the National Tournament in Georgia.
He retired in 1993. But because of his love for the game when asked he returned to play and coach a little more in 1998. It was 2003 when he pitched Fishtown Tavern to a 11 – 0 shutout in the playoffs this was the only shutout pitched in the playoffs since the web-site started keeping stats in 2000 and still stands today.
